Hacks to Prevent HAIR BREAKAGE

Hair breakage is a common issue that many of us face. Whether you have long, short, curly or straight hair, breakage can occur due to a number of factors such as heat styling, chemical treatments, poor hair care practices, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. If you’re tired of dealing with damaged, brittle and lifeless hair, it’s time to try out these hacks

Read on for our current go-to hacks for preventing hair breakage

1. Use a silk pillowcase

– Sleeping on a rough cotton pillowcase can cause friction between the strands of your hair leading to breakage. A silk pillowcase, on the other hand, reduces this friction, as well as prevents your hair from getting tangled and flattened.

2. Avoid using hot tools

– Constant heat styling can strip your hair of its natural oils, making it more prone to breakage. Instead, try air drying your hair or using heat-free styling options such as braids, twists or buns.

3. Trim your hair regularly

– Regular hair trimming every 6-8 weeks will help to eliminate split ends, which can travel up the hair shaft and cause breakage. This process will also promote the growth of healthier hair.

4. Try a rice water treatment 

We learned about the amazing benefits rice water has and it’s now one of our must-have ingredients for healthy hair. Rice water is full of hair-strengthening and repairing nutrients like amino acids, folic acid, and niacin.

5. Drink lots of water

– Keeping yourself hydrated is essential for maintaining healthy, luscious locks. Make sure to drink at least 8 cups of water per day to keep your hair moisturized from the inside out.

6. Avoid tight hairstyles

– Pulling your hair back tightly into a ponytail, bun or braids can add strain on the hair follicles making them more susceptible to breakage. If you must put your hair up, use a loose hair tie and try not to tie too tightly.

7. Eat a balanced diet

– Eating a balanced diet that is rich in vitamins and minerals, such as biotin, iron, and vitamin E, can help to strengthen your hair and prevent breakage. Foods such as meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits should be incorporated into your diet.
